Welcome to the 20th Anniversary Meeting of the European Low-Grade Glioma Network (ELGGN)
Dear colleagues and friends of the European Low-Grade Glioma Network (ELGGN).
The 20th edition of the ELGGN annual meeting will take place in Montpellier, on April 23-25, 2026.
For two decades, the ELGGN has united neurosurgeons, neuroscientists, neuro-oncologists, neuroradiologists, and rehabilitation specialists around a common goal: to understand and preserve the human brain while improving the lives of patients living with diffuse low-grade gliomas.
Founded on a spirit of collaboration, open dialogue, and translational research, the ELGGN has grown into a dynamic community that bridges clinical expertise and neuroscience innovation across Europe and beyond. Together, its members have shaped the modern concepts of functional neuro-oncology — redefining how we map, operate, and monitor brain plasticity in glioma patients.
The 20th Anniversary Congress in Montpellier will celebrate this collective journey and look ahead to the future of low-grade glioma care.

Nestled in the historic heart of Montpellier, the Botanical institute of the University of Montpellier offers a unique setting where science, history, and culture converge. Founded in the 16th century alongside the world-renowned Faculty of Medicine—the oldest continuously active medical school in the Western world—the Institute stands adjacent to the Jardin des Plantes, France’s oldest botanical garden, created in 1593 by Henri IV. Located just a few steps from the historic Faculty of Medicine and the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, the Institute of Botany will provide an inspiring backdrop for the 20th Anniversary Meeting of the European Low-Grade Glioma Network, where tradition meets innovation in the pursuit of scientific progress.

Social Event
A social dinner is planned for Friday, April 24, at 8:00 PM at “Le Petit Jardin” restaurant (20 rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, Montpellier).
Participation is limited to 210 persons, and a 65€ participation fee will be requested in cash on site.
Please indicate whether you wish to attend the dinner during the registration process.

ELGGN surgical survey
To help us prepare a high-impact educational session for the upcoming ELGGN meeting, we warmly invite senior surgeons, trainees, and residents to participate in a short anonymous online surgical survey (10 minutes).
By sharing your experience, you will help us identify the key challenges and common pitfalls encountered by young (and older) neurosurgeons during brain mapping, better understand current practices and inter-center variability, and design a practical and relevant session directly aligned with your needs.
Participants who wish to do so will have the opportunity to join the ELGGN study group and be included as collaborators in any potential future publications related to this survey (see the end of the survey for details).

Hands-on Workshops
Join the one-hour nTMS hands-on workshops to practice non-invasive, pre-procedural motor mapping first hand
Guided by an experienced operator, you will be able to deliver pulses and see motor-evoked potentials in real-time. See how coil positioning, tilt and rotation influence the stimulation intensity on the cortex and why navigating the coil in real-time is crucial for accurate results. We will also show you how nTMS language mapping works and which types of speech errors you might see. Both nTMS motor and language mapping data can then be imported into pre-operative planning software. Both workshops (Friday and Saturday) are identical, and both are limited to the first 20 registrants. Registration directly with the organizer:
