Le CHU de Montpellier est fier d'annoncer le recrutement du premier patient américain dans l'étude MOSTE du projet In Extremis !

Le patient a été recruté par le Dr. Mouhammad JUMAA à l'hôpital ProMedica de Toledo (Ohio).

L'étude MOSTE a pour objectif d’évaluer si les AVC de présentation mineure (qui représentent 15% des AVC dans le monde) peuvent bénéficier d’une revascularisation par voie intra-artérielle (thrombectomie) en urgence plutôt que d’un traitement médical. 

L'étude promue par le CHU de Montpellier et coordonnée par le Pr Vincent Costalat et le Dr Caroline Arquizan du CHU de Montpellier, Le Dr. Bertrand Lapergue de l’Hôpital Foch et le Pr. Jovin Tudor de l’hôpital universitaire Cooper (Camden, New Jersey) a déjà inclus 542 patients en France et en Espagne.

La participation des centres américains à l'étude MOSTE est une avancée majeure dans le développement de cette recherche internationale désormais transatlantique. 

Le CHU de Montpellier est désormais le promoteur d’une étude clinique aux Etats-Unis, validée par la très sérieuse FDA (Food & Drug Administration), une première pour notre établissement !

[Research & Innovation]: Montpellier University Hospital Enrolls his First US Patient in the In Extremis-MOSTE Study (Minor Stroke Therapy Evaluation, Evaluation of Acute Mechanical Revascularization in Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke with Minor Symptoms (NIHSS < 6) in Patients Last Seen Well < 24 Hours) !

Montpellier University Hospital is proud to announce the enrollment of the first US patient in the MOSTE study of the In Extremis project!

The patient was enrolled by Dr. Mouhammad JUMAA at the ProMedica Toledo Hospital (Ohio).

The MOSTE study aims to evaluate whether strokes presenting with minor symptoms (which represents 15% of strokes worldwide) can benefit from emergency intra-arterial revascularization (thrombectomy) rather than medical treatment alone.

The study promoted by the University Hospital of Montpellier (France) and coordinated by Pr. Vincent Costalat and Dr. Caroline Arquizan (University Hospital of Montpellier, France), Dr. Bertrand Lapergue (Hospital Foch, Suresnes, France) and Pr. Jovin Tudor (Cooper University Hospital, Camden, New Jersey) has already enrolled 542 patients in France and Spain.

The participation of American centers in the In MOSTE study is a major step forward in the development of this transatlantic international research.

The Montpellier University Hospital is now the promoter of a clinical study in the United States, validated by the very serious FDA (Food & Drug Administration), a first for our institution!
